Get Involved
Our research focuses on experiences of childhood maltreatment, and experiences of intimate partner violence. Sometimes this involves analysing large datasets, and other times this might involve speaking directly with those who have experienced or caused harm in intimate relationships or with organisations who support them. If you would like to get involved in our research, we would love to hear from you!
You can always reach out to us if you want to discuss getting involved in our research using the contact details below.
For young adults
There are a couple of ways for you to get involved in our research. For example, you could join our Safe Relationships Co-production Group, and work with us to design our research projects. Everyone taking part will be compensated. To learn more about co-production opportunities, please see the information leaflets below:
- For young adults who have previously experienced harm in a romantic relationship.
- For young adults who have previously caused harm in a romantic relationship.
Or you could be a participant in one of our projects, to share your views and experiences. Feel free to use our contact details below if you want to discuss any of these options with us.
If you are currently experiencing any form of violence, you can ask for support from the following charities: Refuge, Women’s Aid , and Men’s Advice Line. If you are worried that you are abusive, you can contact Respect. If you are under 19, you can contact Childline. Support is also available for your wellbeing or emotional needs. You can contact the Samaritans or the Shout Crisis Text Line.
For organisations
We are always looking for ways to collaborate with organisations and charities on our research.
There are several ways in which we could connect, and here are some ideas:
- You could help us develop our research questions, or advise in the design of research projects.
- We could present our research findings at your events, or provide summaries of our research to you in the form of leaflets or infographics.
- You might be able to help us identify and reach people who might be interested in taking part in our research.
- You could help us develop our research questions, or advise in the design of research projects.
- You might be able to get involved as a participant in our research.
